Robert McKinnon

Mechanical engineer who likes building practical systems that survive contact with the real world.

My background spans R&D, testing, manufacturing, commissioning, and product development, with a focus on turning messy technical problems into workable, validated outcomes. I'm especially interested in the overlap between engineering, automation, software, and AI-assisted development, where good tools can make useful things faster without losing sight of the physical constraints that actually matter.

Currently: Iterating on a self-hosted multi-user workout tracker. It started as a way to track my own training and turned into a hands-on excuse to learn the deployment and ops side properly.
